I have spent the last 3 weeks of July on a fantastic holiday in one of Norway’s most beautiful fjords; Hardangerfjord. We arrived to Bergen with flight from London Gatwick. You can fly direct to Bergen with Scandinavian Airlines SAS, or the normally better priced company Norwegian.no . The flight is only about one and a half hour, and if the weather allows you will enjoy a beautiful view of the Norwegian coast on your flight to Bergen. On your arrival to Bergen, you can choose either to take a taxi or an airport shuttle service, dont forget that Norway is quite expensive so check the price of the taxi fare before you jump in! We stayed at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel located at Bryggen only 300 meters from the famous fish market. This hotel is one of the best Radisson hotels we ever stayed at. During our stay in Bergen we visited many attractions; Bergen Aquarium, Floy mountain, Fish Market, Edvard Grieg museum, and many more.
Next on our agenda was a trip into the Hardanger Fjord, “Hardengerfjorden”. We joined a boat to the small but beautiful place called Rosendal. This is a town deep in the fjord surrounded by beautiful mountains. Here we visited the Rosendal Baroni; smallest castle in Norway! We also joined a trip to the glacier Folgefonna. In Rosendal there are a few small Bed & Breakfast, but we stayed at the Rorendal Fjord Hotel situated next to the sea front.
We returned to Bergen for one night before we flew back to the UK.
We can recommend this trip to everyone who wants to explore the amazing nature of Norway!
